Discount Tire, America's largest independent tire retailer, today announced
the opening of its new store located at 7301 McPherson Ave. in Laredo, TX. |

The 6,947-square-foot Discount Tire facility is situated on McPherson Ave.,
south of Del Mar Blvd. The Laredo store is operated by 16 employees and is
open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on
Saturday. The store is closed on Sunday. |

Discount Tire is famous for its "Little Old Lady" icon, which has been
a fixture in the company's advertising since the 1970's. The company has
earned a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for the longest
running TV commercial, featuring the Little Old Lady. The "Thank You"
TV spot shows her throwing a tire through a Discount Tire store window
and ends with the line: "If ever you're not satisfied with one of our
tires, please feel free to bring it back. Thank you, Discount Tire Company." |
